They are not purebred dog they are cross bred of various other types of spaniels. They are the cousins of Sussex, Springer, Field and toy spaniels they originated from Spain but developed in England. Initially they were used as hunting dogs. Based on the method of hunting they were further grouped and it particularly hunted woodcock.

They are small 15 inches at the withers, with a medium length, double coat long pendulous ears. Females are slightly smaller than males. They have long hanging ears, rounded head and silky, feathered medium-length coat with weight 15-30 pounds.

The way we behave should not tempt the puppies to feel that they are the leaders of human because this will show vast changes in their behavior and may cause problems for the owners. The puppies may develop combination of fear and dominance that can cause viciousness. They develop many negative behaviors that can change their physical conditions too.

They are very bold and curious to work and learn with obedience to its master’s command. It is playful easy adaptable trustworthy and loyal, all these attributes are loved by all to keep it as a pet. When treated wild it becomes harsh. They can be trained in a friendly manner as other pets are taught. They easily learn the common commands of sitting, standing, lying and walking on a leash and enjoy playing balls. They are loved by children and they need firm loving leadership with moderate exercise to be happy.
